Celebrating 100 years in business
1924-2024

About J.N. Harper Co.

In the early 1920’s, while working in the textile industry, James Norman Harper had an opportunity to start his own wholesale business. In 1924 he borrowed $100 and founded J.N. Harper Co.

Joined by his sons, Ralph and Bruce, J.N. Harper distributed men’s suiting and interlining for men and women.

In the late 1970’s the third generation, Gary (Ralph’s son), joined the business and J.N. Harper expanded into women’s apparel as well as adding quilting fabrics to their product line.

Harper’s is now a fourth generation business as Michael and Megan have joined their father Gary. Harper’s has increased their cotton and quilting distributorship across Canada and provide customers the best lines the industry has to offer.

Harper’s converts and distributes fabrics ranging from fine apparel, exquisite fine shirting’s, a full range of interfacings, as well as a full complement of products for the quilting industry – batiks, cotton prints, excellent basics and batting.

The Harper’s logo is our grandfather’s and great grandfather’s signature. It is a reminder of how our company began and a symbol of the family values we maintain with our team and clients.
